Worship the Lord in the Beauty of Holiness
We welcome you to worship with us at Saint Bernard’s Church.
Each Sunday we gather to celebrate Holy Eucharist, to be inspired by the music of the Choirs of Saint Bernard’s, and to hear God’s word read, prayed and preached. During the 10 a.m. service children are invited to attend Church School, then join us for Holy Communion. Child care is provided for the very young.
Our services are patterned on the The Book of Common Prayer (1979) and our music drawn from The Hymnal 1982 of the Episcopal Church, as well as the wider English choral tradition.
On special occasions you are likely to encounter string and brass ensembles, in addition to the organ, as well as guest vocalists.
In the parlance of the Anglican World Communion, our worship is broad, with a leaning toward High Church. Our services are framed by processions of the Choir, servers and celebrant. The Eucharistic Prayer is sung by celebrant and people. We seldom use incense and encourage worshippers to express their piety in prayer as they prefer. The actions of our priest at altar tend to be Anglo-Catholic.
All who are baptized are invited to receive Holy Communion.
