Saint Bernard’s is a historic parish of the Episcopal Diocese of New Jersey located in Bernardsville, Somerset County.

ABOUT OUR PAST

Founded in the 1890s along what was then a well-traveled carriage path through “the village” of Bernardsville, Saint Bernard's Church has become home to generations of Episcopalians who have nurtured a common life of worship in the Anglican way.

ABOUT OUR PRESENT

Inclusive of its membership in the Episcopal Church in the United States, Saint Bernard’s is part of the Anglican World Communion, a global fellowship of Christians whose faith and worship derive historically from the Church of England. The Archbishop of Canterbury, in shared ministry with the Primates of the Anglican Provinces throughout the world, is the spiritual head of this Communion.

ABOUT OUR FUTURE

Amply visible to the passer-by on Claremont Road, Saint Bernard’s Episcopal Church has been under construction for several years. In October 2004 a fire caused over $6 million damage to our historic house of prayer.

We returned to worship in our fully restored church in Holy Week and Easter 2008.

We are delighted to be able to offer vibrant ministry opportunities to our members and to the community, including services of Holy Eucharist and programs of music, fellowship, pastoral care, education, and outreach.
